Here’s a very useful tip if you have blu-tak or crayon marks all over some of the walls in your house. Regardless of the type of paint, you can remove the oily and greasy marks with ease using just bicarbonate of soda.

In a cup add three spoons of bicarbonate of soda, then follow with one spoon of water. Mix it until the paste starts to clump together, then add another one or two spoons until the mixture is milky. This means you can now spread it on the walls without it sticking or falling off.

Take a cloth, or a tea towel and soak the end of it with the mixture. Rub on the greasy marks in a circular motion, being careful not to scrub off the pain – but enough to make it moist.

Leave to dry naturally, or with a hair dryer, and repeat until the stains have gone!
