Did you know that a lot of used books that you find in charity shops, car boot sales, and other sources could be harbouring the eggs of bed bugs and book lice. These pesky critters are attracted to the glue in the spines!
A super quick way to kill the eggs is to place the book into a sandwich bag that you can fully seal (air tight) and place in the freezer for 48hrs!
Another great book tip, especially used ones that have ‘that’ smell…you know that musty stench of nastiness – just fill a box with some spoonful’s of bicarbonate of soda, drop in the books, close and leave overnight. Bicarbonate of soda neutralises odours, so this should make those books smell a lot more tolerable!
